Chilly or Cold Weather Blushing & Rosacea
This type of facial flushing is the result of sudden temperature changes from the cold winter air outside to a heated room or in the summer months the sudden change from the warm air outside to the climate control air conditioning inside. In situation where the air or temperature is colder, the blood vessels constrict to hold in body heat as it regulates our core body temperature. In the warmer air situations, the opposite effect occurs, the blood vessels dilate to cool the body as it release heat to maintain your core body temperature. To minimize the effect of this type of flushing, it can help to slowly transition whenever possible from the heated to cooled temperature extremes.
